Valerie's Background
Interior Designer · Certified True Colour Expert
My passion for residential design began as a teenager with an appreciation of historic homes. The stories that a home's architectural exterior and its interior rooms could tell have always fascinated me. Taking note of the intricacies and details of these homes would fill me with wonder and delight. Streets came alive with personality because of the design of those homes — and the rooms within them helped shape the lives of their families through the years.
Knowing my future needed to involve the expression of those stories, I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design at North Dakota State University — a program accredited by both CIDA and NCIDQ. I am also a Certified True Colour Expert.
With over two decades of experience in home design, I continue to help clients enhance their surroundings, simply express their personality, and bring more joy into their homes. The relationship I form with each client enables me to design spaces that not only function well but also reflect who they are — and building those relationships is one of my favorite parts of the entire process.
Rick's Background

The designing and building aspects of architecture intrigued me throughout high school. The ability to have a complete understanding of how buildings are put together drove me into architectural study. After completing my Associate's Degree in Architectural Design at St. Cloud Technical & Community College, I took a path that led me through mechanical design — using my analytical abilities to design working machine and structural components — before returning to what I love most: building homes.
I hold a Minnesota General Contractor License (BC807593). In the past five years alone, Valerie and I have successfully renovated and sold 16 project houses in Central Minnesota. During that time, we've also helped numerous clients renovate areas of their homes and businesses.
Twenty years in sales and management gave me a deep appreciation for clear communication, project timelines, and helping people make decisions with confidence. These attributes are essential every single day when we're managing renovations and simplifying the process for our clients.

This is where our insight, guidance, and smiles come in. It does not have to be complicated, and honestly, it can be quite fun. We've built strong relationships with vendors and tradespeople across Central Minnesota who help simplify the process.

Being parents of two teenage girls, we completely relate. We are easy to work with — we have a flexible schedule and we are willing to work with yours. We take the responsibility of running the project, meeting with contractors, and scheduling entirely off your plate. On the design side, we curate a focused set of choices so you aren't stuck with decision fatigue after running from store to store. We find solutions that convey your vision and suit your lifestyle.

Good design does not have to come with a high price tag. Our past projects have ranged from starter-home budgets to dream-home budgets, and both have taught us how to create beautiful spaces while keeping your budget firmly in mind. Finding an inventive way to create the look you desire on a smaller budget is a challenge we enthusiastically take on.
